South Wales Police covers an area of around 812 square miles, which although only representing 10% of the geographical area of
South Wales Fire & Rescue aims are to:
• Create an environment where people of South Wales can learn about the risks from fire and how they reduce those risks;
• To maintain an excellent emergency Fire and Rescue Service which can respond instantly, is well equipped and well trained to save lives and extinguish fires promptly and safely;
• To use our skills and equipment to reduce other emergencies and to respond to the needs of people in danger and provide humanitarian support, wherever we can.
The National Probation Service (NPS) is a major component in reducing crime and are committed to minimising the impact of crime on communities and especially victims who have been touched by serious violent or sexually violent crimes. They are actively committed to rehabilitate offenders given community sentences and those released from prison; to enforce the conditions of their court orders and release licences and to take whatever steps in their power to protect the public.
Careers Wales provide advice, guidance, placement and other services to:
• people undergoing full-time education in schools and colleges of further education;
• people undergoing part-time education in order to fit them for employment;
• people aged under 21 who have left education (other than higher education) or full-time training, up to two years earlier;
• young people with disabilities (including those with learning difficulties), until they are settled in their career intentions;
• education institutions;
• employers;
• training providers; and
• parents and carers.
Job Centre Plus is a part of the Department of Work and Pensions and aim to:
• help more people into paid work;
• help employers fill their vacanices; and
• give people of working age the help and support they are entitled to if they cannot work.
